Train with PUSHįocals by NORTH are stylish smart glasses with a transparent, full-color display that connects you to the things you care about such as text messaging, calendar, navigation, weather, Alexa, Spotify, Uber, etc. We had 3 amazing speakers from companies in the wearable tech space come deliver presentations about their technology, the journey and lessons they have learnt while building out their product. Also, our sponsors helped with spreading the word to members of their community. We reached out to our personal connections to find those who would be interested. MakersToronto shot for a 120 RSVPs, which sold out 3 days to the event, with a few others on the waitlist. More people are looking for better ways to interact with technology which works in tandem with natural human behaviours. The theme was inspired by the consistent growth and adoption of wearables across multiple application areas. Innovative Wearable Technology was our focus of the night. Similar to what Product Hunt Toronto had done in the past, we decided to have a product theme for the event and have speakers from companies who build products in the selected product category. Product Hunt also sent out awesome stickers and swags to be shared at the event. The hosts have access to a dashboard for managing things from posting the event, getting RSVPs, onboarding Chapter members/hosts/sponsors/speakers, sending emails, etc. Product Hunt provided a platform ( ) to help with the handling some of the logistics of organizing an event.
